Re: False Imprisonment at the Wake County Justice Center on 12/15/2021 at about 3:20 PM by Deputy D. McLeod

Greetings:

My name is Reinaldo Olavarria and I visited the Wake County Justice Center yesterday on Salisbury Street. I was detained first by Allied Security Officers and then by Deputy D. McLeod while trying to deliver a letter to the chair of the Wake County Board of Commissioners. I was then escorted to the offices of the county commissioners by the Deputy. My freedom and liberty was taken away by the Deputy.

Every officer has a duty to ascertain the lawfulness of any restrain/imprisonment. Here, it is believed and herein asserted an unlawful order was issued to restrain me. I am attempting to ascertain whom issued the order and on what basis [see attached letters and email]. As stated to the officer and was clear, under no circumstances during any visits to the building, beginning with the public commissioners meetings, did I engage in any unlawful acts and I at all times remained peaceful and respectful while on county property. Videos of the public meeting show that I did not even speak a word during the meeting. And, during subsequent visits to the county building, on the this visit in particular, Ben and Ebony, employees thereat the Commissioners office did attest to the fact before the deputy that I never engaged in any illegal activities and at all times did remain and engage others in a peaceful and respectful manner during visits.

This is a complaint against the officer for the imprisonment/restraint/escort. I am requesting an investigation to determine if the officer/deputy did know the order was unlawful and/or without merits. Please investigate to determine if he inquired as to the nature and lawfulness of the order. Also, if an order exists, please investigate and ascertain to see if it is a false report and unlawful.

Please feel free to communicate with me with reference to this matter. Thank you.
