Re: Human Relations Analysis


Greetings:


The purpose of this communication is the discussion of a key concept employers use, that is human relations analysis/psychology.  The positions in question are at the South Wilmington Center for Men.  The evidence supports a conclusion perhaps other persons need to be employed in certain positions of administration.

   

I watch a lot of Mayday Air Disasters and a fascinating part of any incident analysis comes into play when other factors are ruled out as the cause of an incident that resulted in death or harm.  Do the people/persons that have control over the lives and well-being of others get along with each other to the extent that they themselves are not the cause of harm to great bodies of people?  Human relations analysis/psychology delves into the relationship between working employees and determines if the toxicity of those relationships caused the death or harm of others.  Here, aside from other factors, it seems like the county and the Wake County Housing Department failed to make a human relations analysis of two key persons, Frank Lawrence and Candice Brown.  


Site factors demonstrate that two administrators are not able to or experience difficulties in forming proper and appropriate relations with homeless persons and fellow employees.  That includes reports from employees that left Wake County whom cited a hostile work environment.  Again, aside from any other factors or motivations, a human relations analysis needs to be made to determine if Frank Lawrence and/or Candice Brown have the capacity to form good relations and a positive workplace environment as administrators.  It is the opinion and belief of this writer, after years of talking with employees at SWSC, that Mr. Lawrence and Mrs. Brown are responsible in their collective actions for creating a hostile work environment, and, HR failed to address this long standing issues [again, aside from other factors alleged here to date as found on the website cited below].  When an essential component of a position mandates being able to form and keep positive relationships, and there is evidence that is not being done or cannot be done, then your duty as an employer is to make sure someone made an extensive human relations analysis, and determined if administrative employees are not able to perform the essential duties of their position in these public service positions.  


To be real, working at the shelter is hard by itself.  You are dealing with a myriad of problems, mental health, substance abuse, medical conditions, psychopathy and sociopaths.  But, you must have love and compassion for the homeless and other human beings/employees.  It presents that conditions at the center for men need to nested into the administrative environment created by two administrators whom seem to not love the people they serve with and the people they serve.    


The administrative positions of the aforementioned are such that two key principles must be evident.  First, they must be able to get along with and forge positive and enriching relationships with the general public.  Second, they must be able to forge with and get along with fellow employees.  That is to be determined absent any other factors that the employment place and setting may overshadow.  I really see the need here to contract with a human resources analysis whom may have access to everyone that has worked at the center and is willing to participate to determine and verify that you concretely have a human relational problem here that is causing many people to walk away from employment at the center and causing the homeless not to use the center as a resource.   A key point to consider is are the actions of two administrators causing employees and homeless persons to be at risk of harm, injury, or death.
